The postal guy just schlepped the October 2013 issue of FLIGHT JOURNAL to my mailbox. (SURFINBATCHIEF, it has a headon shot of FIFI on the cover and an article on B-29's inside ). Inside is an article by Barrett Tillman that's titled 'The long hidden mysteries of Pearl Harbor'. I'll read it tonight before I go to sleep. For those who aren't hip to FJ, it's among the best, most accurate aviation magazines published in the U.S. and is always good for at least one ' WELL, NO Jive!!' article every issue.

My Jan 2014 issue of Aviation History just arrived and they have an article entitled:
A Pair of Piper Cubs: The First Victims at Pearl Harbor. That also is a great magazine.

I did not read the entire article yet. But some good details of what I did read so far. Even something about restoring one that was shot down?

I strongly recommend both Flight Journal (they do other special interest focus magazines also)and Aviation History. After decades of Smithsonian Air & Space, I'm letting it expire (subscriber since Vol 1, issue 1)as I no longer feel I'm getting good value for my $24.00 a year.
