I picked up an M1 Garand yesterday. I haven't gotten too deep in researching it yet but the receiver was manufactured in September of 1942. The front part of the stock has been replaced at some point, I'm going to try and find one that matches better at some point. Since Garands are almost never matching original complete units anymore and this one has obviously been replaced, it won't lessen the value of the gun to do so.

Awesome buy! I want one too. But airplanes parts have become priority.

I now have 800 rounds of belted 30 cal ammo and about 50 en bloc clips. I took a vacation day Friday to go out to the range and spend the day beating up my right shoulder and ear drum.

Shooting was a blast! I determined it had been about ten years since I was last out. Between my brother and I and a couple hours with my sister toward the end we went through right at 700 rounds that day between six guns.
Now that I've got the fever again I've ordered an M1 Carbine, it should be here by the end of the week.
